Key to the Directech QM Systems offering, is our ability to offer multi-disciplinary design and manufacturing backed up with years of experience and a committed supply chain. Our impressive track record of work on major projects makes choosing QM Systems a low risk decision: we have experience of delivering automation systems to major UK automotive and rail companies, high power solutions for the aerospace industry, vision inspection systems for production and functional test, and much more. In fact, we have probably designed over 50% of the solution you need already!

The facility

Our 22,000 sq ft state of the art facility is the home to our bespoke manufacturing system.
  1. Company Founded in 1987 as a test and measurement Company
  2. Won major contract in hardware testing for syncronisation for the mobile phone network
  3. Secured contracts with Motorola, Sony Erikson and Nokia for mainstream testing equipment
  4. Developed a range of innovative test products for the aerospace industry, focused on mission critical electronic testing that have continually developed and are sold to a wide range of Aerospace clients today.
  5. QM Systems Launched our Industrial Automation Division which marked a significant widening of scope in our engineering capability
  6. QM systems grew as we undertook international projects in India, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. As a result of growth QM Systems invested back into the company and moved to larger facilities in Worcester the team today is 45 permanent members of staff and as the projects grew in size more manufacturing space and upgraded facilities were required
  7. QM systems invested back into the company by building a controlled laboratory for the electronic and electrical panel build operations
  8. Turnover rose in excess of £4m
  9. QM systems acquired Thomson Engineering Design Ltd, a leading provider of manipulation solutions in the rail infrastructure industry

QM Manufacturing begins. Our contract manufacturing sub-division that provides clients with a turnkey NPI solution, including manufacturing engineering, design and manufacture or production equipment, through staffing and distribution logistics.

2022

QM Systems continues to expand.  Moving into a  45,000 sq/ft facility with over 5 times the available floor space and approximately 80% additional office and commercial space compared to the previous location

2024+

Directech QM Systems – Integration & Acceleration

In 2024, QM Systems formally integrated into the Directech Group, strengthening its position as a specialised engineering and automation partner within a broader industrial ecosystem.

This strategic alignment expanded operational capacity, enhanced technical depth, and introduced integrated solutions across manufacturing, automation, and industrial systems.

With access to shared engineering resources, advanced project management frameworks, and expanded infrastructure, Directech QM Systems entered a new phase focused on scalable growth, technical excellence, and long-term industry partnerships.
