One of our latest builds is nearing completion, a Pressure Decay tester as part of a larger project for one of our returning automotive customers.

This machine carries out two types of pressure tests, using a Furness control leak tester to test the leak rate to the atmosphere and the leak rate across the internal piston of the product.

Festo cylinders are connected to the product using WEH leak-proof connectors when air is applied to the WEH connectors a bellow on the rod expands creating an airtight seal with the product.

Once the product passes the two leak tests a DPM (direct part mark) is applied via a dot-peen Telesis unit. This system will be controlled with an Allen Bradley PLC programmed at QM by our control engineers.
